Abstract
Objectives. The main purposes of this study were to describe dental patients¡¯ dental prostheses and the treatment required to install those prostheses and to explore factors that affect patient satisfaction.

Methods. This study was done in the Deagu and Gyungbook areas of Korea. It was based on a survey of dental patients that was conducted between July 1st, 2006 and August 31st, 2006. Originally, 700 questionnaires were distributed and 640 were collected. UItimately, 626 questionnaires were used for the statistical analysis. Descriptive and inferential statistics, such as frequencies and multiple regression analysis, were introduced. In the multiple regression analysis, twenty two independent variables were employed to explore factors that had an impact on satisfaction.

Results. The results of this study are were as follows: In the multiple regression analysis, patients¡¯ interest in dental personnel (¥â=0.179), their remaining teeth (¥â=0.109), the condition of their health(¥â=0.148), and their expectations for dental prosthesis installation (¥â=0.195) had statistically significant positive relationships with satisfaction with treatment for dental prostheses. No other independent variable had a significant impact on satisfaction.

Conclusions. Some suggestions for future studies and policy implications to improve the satisfaction of dental patients with installation of dental prostheses are introduced and discussed.
